Swisstrax VS Floor Paint

Garage floor paint is outdated, it easily cracks, it becomes slippery when wet, and it needs re-painted at least once every couple of years if you want to maintain a sleek and professional finish.

What if we told you there was a better option? An option that was cost-effective, non-slip, and doesn’t need replacing; at most wiped down once in a while, maybe a quick vacuum if it’s a dusty space?

Say hello to the Swisstrax flooring range; the world’s finest modular flooring, available to buy in the UK from Gala Performance.

The most popular ranges of Swisstrax for garages are the Ribtrax and the Smoothtrax - both are compatible with one another and highly-regarded in the world of motorsport, with Swisstrax flooring used by British touring car teams and various luxury car showroom collections.

SO, WHY SHOULD YOU CHOOSE SWISSTRAX OVER GARAGE FLOOR PAINT?

WEIGHT-BEARING ABILITY

While regular floor paint may crack under pressure, Swisstrax flooring, including both the Ribtrax and Smoothtrax are able to sustain 20 tonnes rollover and 35 tonnes static. No matter how big or small your garage, any vehicle will sit on it with ease, all without damaging your flooring.

Likewise, Swisstrax flooring has a 5120 PSI pressure bearing capacity - you can jack up your car with no danger whatsoever. Garage floor paint is likely to chip, scratch, or peel beneath that kind of pressure.

FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE DESIGN WITH A CHOICE OF 17 COLOURS

Finally, unlike garage floor paint which is usually painted in one block of colour, not being very exciting, Swisstrax flooring comes in 17 different colours - you can even mix and match these to best suit you.

Popular colours include racing red, jet black, and arctic white. Mix them together and make a flag, stripes, or any pattern you see fit?

The choice is entirely yours, and our help and advice is completely free, so get in touch and have a chat.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE RIBTRAX AND THE SMOOTHTRAX?

You’re likely wondering what the difference is between the Swisstrax Ribtrax and the Smoothtrax?

The main difference is the Smoothtrax does not have a curved top unlike the Ribtrax, this makes it 16mm instead of 18mm in depth. For garages, this provides easier access to roll jacks and dollies, is easier underfoot, and makes lugging equipment around lighter work.

However, the Smoothtrax is currently only available in six different colours, but these can be used in combination with Ribtrax tiles, if you’re going for a pattern, that is.
